A SUNDAY Times bestselling author and book reviewer has named an Isle of Wight doctor’s debut novel as her book of the month for July.

Lady Dawn Annandale, author of memoirs Call Me Elizabeth and Call Me Madam, was full of praise for Gos Jilani’s contemporary fiction, The Doctor from Bombay.

The novel depicts a clash of cultures when a young Indian doctor comes to work for the NHS in the UK, with a love story at the very heart of it.

The story follows lead character Saj during the ups and downs of a life full of loss, grief, and love.

It combines author Gos Jilani’s experiences and expertise from his time as a doctor within the National Health Service and his successful private cosmetic clinic on the Island.

Gos is also a singer and DJ, performing at major music events throughout the UK, including Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival.

The novel is available to purchase on Amazon, and Gos will be at Waterstones in Newport on Saturday, August 5, for a book signing from 11am.
