Emergency services have been called to the scene of a field fire on the outskirts of St Helens this afternoon (Thursday, July 20).
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted shortly after 2pm to reports of a fire involving a field of straw.
Crews from Newport and Ryde have been sent to the scene off Carpenters Road.
Fire teams are being supported with the water carrier from Freshwater Fire Station.
Hose reel jets are being used to stop the fire spreading and put out the blaze.
