Following the success of last year's first Isle Of Wight Book Awards, entries for this year’s event are now all in.
An impressive 22 titles with Island connections that were published last year have been submitted.
The three judges, Alan Titchmarsh for childrens, Hunter Davies for non-fiction and Georgina Moore for fiction, will choose the winners, and the grand awards dinner will take place at the Island Sailing Club on Tuesday, October 3.
Tickets will soon be on sale for the awards, which will include a fundraising element for Independent Arts, based on Newport High Street.
Organiser Paul Armfield, from Medina Bookshop in Cowes, said: “There has always been a very healthy and very steady supply of new titles either set on the Island, about the Island or by local authors, but in recent years, this seems to be increasing.
“I think the judges will have a difficult job on their hands this year.”
Hunter Davies said: “Last year’s book awards was the first ever and was a massive success.
“It is now clear it is going to run and run for ever. So, get writing.
“Your memoirs, your uncle Fred’s memoirs, the history of your village, your house, your school, your pet, your nan’s outdoor privy, or a novel, a children’s book, anything really as long as it has an Isle of Wight element!”
