Isle of Wight man on trial accused of triple assault in park

AN ISLE of Wight man accused of attacking three people in a public park in the centre of Newport last month, will stand trial next month.

William Richard Barnaby, of Whitcombe Road, Newport, denied three charges of common assault — against two men and one woman — in Church Litten, on June 29.

He appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 7.

The 38-year-old was bailed to reappear for trial at the same venue on August 17.
