A multi-agency police search for a 'high-risk missing person' yesterday evening (Saturday) was successful, Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed.
Isle of Wight Search and Rescue (WightSAR), lifeboat and coastguard teams assisted police with a search near Culver Down between 8pm - 10pm.
Bembridge lifeboat was launched, alongside Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue teams and a crew from WightSAR.
The Y-boat was also sent to carry out a shoreline and base of the cliff search while the all-weather lifeboat stood off and searched the cliffs themselves.
A police spokesperson confirmed the incident was a search for a missing person, who was found safe and well.
As Hampshire Constabulary did not release a media appeal for this person, police are unable to provide any further details.
