POLICE are keen to thank members of the public after a missing man, thought to be on the Isle of Wight, was found.

A widespread search was underway earlier today (Friday), and yesterday, in a bid to locate a missing 28-year-old from London.

Police believed he travelled to the Isle of Wight, specifically to the Porchfield area.

The man had last been seen at around 9.35pm on Wednesday evening, on Thorness Lane in Porchfield.

Officers were concerned for his welfare and asked anyone with information to get in touch.

“We are pleased to let you know that he has now been located,” said a spokesperson for the force.

“Many thanks to everyone who shared our appeal.”
