The Vernon Square Conservation Society hosted the long awaited return of its annual Summer Garden Party.

The sun shone last Saturday afternoon in the beautiful Ryde garden, and attendees enjoyed live music and singing from The RUG Band and singer songwriter Steve Love.

The event was open to members, residents and visitors.

Aside from the music, there was a Prosecco and Pimms Bar, homemade cakes and savouries, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Keen gardeners scooped a few bargains at the plant and gardenalia stall.

Children of all ages could browse and ‘try before they buy’ at the popular toy stall.

All proceeds made throughout the afternoon are going to the Vernon Square Conservation Society, which is run by volunteers who donate their free time to ensure the garden remains open to the members, the community of Ryde and visitors.
