Jarvis Cocker confirmed his status as an iconic frontman when Pulp headlined the Isle of Wight Festival on Friday night.

The 90s band got the crowd jumping early doors with Disco 2000 then played a cool set to please both fans and newcomers alike, right through to Common People for the finale.

Pulp dedicated Something Changed to Steve Mackey, their bass player who died this year.

A theatrical stage curtain and a grand staircase centre stage added a touch of glamour to the proceedings, and Cocker had the audience in the palm of his hands.

He mixed with the "common people" while travelling over to the Isle of Wight, choosing a FastCat crossing on Thursday.

Saturday will see the likes of George Ezra, The Chemical Brothers, N-Dubz, Anne-Marie, Sam Ryder, Example, and FLO take to the stage.

There's plenty of music to choose from, on the Main Stage and in the Big Top, plus more at the River Stage, Cirque de la Quirk, Hipshaker Lounge, Electro Love, Kashmir Cafe, The Feeling, Platform One Stage and Intoxicated Tea Rooms.

On Sunday, Blondie, Robbie Williams and Manic Street Preachers are the big name draws.
