To celebrate the forthcoming 102nd birthday of Islander Eddie Minghella, ice cream was delivered to his Ryde garden.

Louise Hart and Jenny Simmons dropped by with the cold treat.

To celebrate the arrival of his own Chocolate Bliss flavour, Eddie sung Italian opera songs and sat on the ice cream bike, ahead of his big day, on June 21.

Jenny, who jointly took over the brand in 2017, said: "It was emotional and nothing short of phenomenal watching Eddie."

"We have loved working with Minghella flavours and continue to use Eddie's original recipes, using Isle of Wight milk and double cream," said Louise.

Minghella ice cream has been produced on the Isle of Wight for 70 years.

The company was set up in 1950 by Eddie and his wife, Gloria.
