It's good news for businesses on Ventnor Esplanade, as Shore Hill will be reopened later today (Friday, May 26), it has been confirmed.

The main road onto the Esplanade, Shore Hill - also known as Ventnor Cascade - was closed yesterday (Thursday) as engineers investigated the cause of a sinkhole.

A large pothole had opened near the top of the hill, exposing a void hidden beneath.

The road had been closed from last Monday (May 15) to allow for Southern Water utility repairs and was initially expected to last two weeks, but reopened last Friday (May 19).
