Looking for things to do over half term? As we head into the Summer, many of the Isle of Wight's attractions have special events lined up.

Here's seven special events on the Island that can be enjoyed next week!

Tapnell Farm

Tapnell Farm Park is holding a week of fairy tale fun from tomorrow (May 27) to Saturday, June 3.

There will be various animal activities, including Billy Goats Gruff, Trotter Training with the three little pigs, fairy tale-themed animal enrichment crafts, daily falconry flying displays in the events barn and even the chance to meet a unicorn!

The Farm Park will also be running paddock tours and workshops with The Fairy Godmother, including pottery painting, a build-a-unicorn workshop and magic shows with Merlin in his Magic Emporium.

Robin Hill

Robin Hill will host the official Isle of Wight Balloon Festival, featuring a display of vibrant hot air balloons, a packed lineup of live music, family activities and food stalls over the bank holiday weekend (tomorrow to Monday, May 29).

Explore the ancient woodland and enjoy family entertainment in the Lower Valley, including hamster zorbing, football darts and the bouncy slide.

As the sun goes down, party alongside Robin Hill’s house DJ before getting comfy for its award-winning Night Glow finale.

Blackgang Chine

Cowboys vs Dinosaurs returns to Blackgang Chine from tomorrow to Friday, June 3.

From encounters with prehistoric creatures to stand-offs in the wild west, the event offers lots of family activities.

You can also vote for your favourite to be crowned champion in the Island’s popularity contest in a showdown at the end of the day.

Newport Roman Villa

Newport Roman Villa’s popular clay activity days are returning for the half term, with a reduced £1 entrance fee between Wednesday, May 31, and Friday, June 2.

Visitors can drop in from 10am – 2.30pm and enjoy an animal theme photo hunt and the opportunity to make a clay masterpiece to take home.

The previous clay event during the February half-term saw more than 850 participants visiting the site over two days.

Osborne House

Victoria’s Family Day Out will return at Osborne this half term, by popular demand, transporting visitors back in time with traditional fairground fun.

Kicking off on Tuesday, May 30, through to Thursday, June 1, traditional fairground rides and games include swing boats, helter skelter and coconut shy, with live music from the Victorian period performed by GreenMatthews.

Inspired by the recent Coronation, ‘Kid’s Rule!’ activities will also take place at Osborne on select dates between tomorrow and Sunday, June 4.

Carisbrooke Castle

English Heritage’s ‘Kid’s Rule!’ activities will also take place at Carisbrooke Castle, continuing the celebrations of King Charles III’s coronation.

Children will also be able to battle for glory with Carisbrooke Castle’s trebuchet game and stories behind the siege of the Castle and the role it played in the 100 Years War.

Every child visiting Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House will receive a celebration crown on arrival so they can feel like a King or Queen for the day.

Bembridge Lifeboat Station

The special Yellow Welly Week, full of fun and educational activities, will return over the half-term holiday (tomorrow to Sunday, June 4).

The offshore boathouse will be open every day from 11am to 4pm to view the all-weather lifeboat and join in the activities, from lifejacket ‘clinics’ for boat users to information on coastal walking, fishing, kayaking and much more.

There will be a range of fun activities for youngsters at the station, from dressing up in junior crew kit to line-throwing to ‘rescue the teddy’ and a ‘welly-wanging’ competition on the beach.

Alongside the activities, there will also be the Mayday Mile sponsored walk, lifeboat displays, an evening training launch and a chance to meet the crew.
