FOUR Isle of Wight authors are set to celebrate the launch of their respective books tomorrow (Friday).

At 6pm, authors Fran Heath, Hillard Morley, Ian Caro and Barrie Singleton will all be celebrating at Medina Bookshop in Cowes.

A free event, everyone is invited to enjoy a glass of wine, chat to and hear readings from each of the authors, and pick up a signed first edition or two.

Bookshop manager, Paul Armfield, said: “We love celebrating local talent and getting four authors together is a great way of making a bigger splash and introducing readers to new authors.

“A chance to acknowledge the huge amount of work and imagination that goes into each book, the authors are understandably thrilled to finally get their books in the hands of their readers.”

The Shadowing of Combfoot Chase, by Hillard Morley, is rooted in concerns about surveillance capitalism and told in polyphonic, dark, witty episodes, while Fran Heath’s Five Things I Can See is a snapshot of one woman’s struggles with the anxieties of modern life, motherhood, and personal fulfilment.

Ian Caro’s book The Overlooked has been described as George Orwell’s 1984, reimagined by the lovechild of Chuck Palahniuk and Ernesto Sabato, while Barrie Singleton’s Out of Darkness takes 42 tilts at philosophical thought, political animals and pretentious poets.
