The winners of the Isle of Wight Chamber Business Awards 2023 have been announced at a ceremony hosted by comedian and tv star Shappi Khorsandi.

A host of shortlisted businesses gathered at Cowes Yacht Haven, last night (Friday, May 12), for the event delivered in association with WightFibre.
Some won a 'highly commended' accolade while others took to the stage to lift the prestigious awards.
Datum Electronics won the highly coveted Business of The Year Award, as well as Manufacturing and Export Business of the Year Award.
WightFibre’s John Irvine was presented with the President’s Cup for Outstanding Contribution, reflecting the success of the Gigabit Island project. WightFibre also won Customer Service Award and Employer of The Year Award.

The Start Up Business of the Year Award, sponsored by PC Consultants, was won by The Island Holiday Company.
The Entrepreneurship Award, sponsored by Liz Earle Beauty Co. was won by soft play business, JR Zone.
The Made on the Isle of Wight Award, sponsored by Red Funnel was lifted by tourism organisation, Visit Isle of Wight.
The Community Award, sponsored by Hovertravel was won by Tidal Family Support. The team delivered an emotional speech and asked for an Isle of Wight business to come forward and support their work over the next year, to help them carry on making a difference to our community.
The Customer Service Award, sponsored by Ascensos was won by WightFibre.
The Training and Development Award, sponsored by Hillbans Pest Control, was won by
Yokogawa Marex.
The Environment and Sustainability Award, sponsored by IFPL, was won by oil spill clean-up experts, Vikoma International Limited.
The Hospitality and Tourism Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Visit Isle of Wight, was lifted by The Seaview Hotel and Restaurant.
The Technology and Innovation Award, sponsored by Lifeline Alarms, was won by Parlex Johnson Electric.
The Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by Diametric Technical Ltd was won by WightFibre.
The Manufacturing and Export Business of the Year Award, sponsored by GKN Aerospace Cowes was won by Datum Electronics.
Growth Business of the Year Award, sponsored by WRS Systems was won by JR Zone.
The Business Social Impact Award, sponsored by WightFibre was won by Medina Publishing Ltd.
The Micro Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Gurit, was won by Wed & Prosper.
The Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Wightlink, was won by Captiva Homes.
The Chamber's Member of the Year was EPOS firm, WRS Systems.
The President’s Cup for Outstanding Contribution was handed to John Irvine from WightFibre.
The Business of the Year was a delighted Datum Electronics.
Datum’s managing director James Lees paid tribute to his East Cowes team, for their support in enabling record growth and turnover in 2022.
Chamber CEO, Steven Holbrook told the Isle of Wight County Press: "It's great to see so many fabulous Island businesses together in the room.
"The competition was fierce. It's been a really lovely evening.
"They are all really worthy winners. Datum's had an incredible year and they are on the top of their game. Meanwhile, John Irvine is inspirational and I am so pleased for him.
"And Shappi was wonderful. She hit the perfect tone."
“The Isle of Wight is everyone’s best kept secret,” Shappi said. “I love being here. It’s my favourite place and it’s so good to be able to celebrate with everyone here tonight. Thank you for having me, you’ve all been fabulous!”
