THE Wolverton Folk and Blues Fair returns at the weekend.

Now in its 11th year, organisers are hoping to beat last year’s total raised for charity, which stood at more than £11,000.

Wolverton Manor in Shorwell is the venue for the festival, which runs from 11.30am to 8pm on Saturday, May 13.

From the successful launch in 2011, the family-friendly festival has been gaining momentum with a wealth of bands and artists involved.

Festivalgoers can tuck into locally produced food, and there will be activities for children on offer, and a tea and Real Ale tent.

Special guest artists this year include London's Premier Jump-Blues/Swing Band Jump66, award-winning UK folk stars The Shackleton Trio, and British blues supremo The Robin Bibi band.

As well as a main stage, the popular beer tent acoustic stage will make a welcome return, boasting a full and varied programme, featuring some of the best folk and blues musicians the Isle of Wight has to offer.

Other artists confirmed include Grizzly and The Grasshoppers, The Crew, The Bohemians, Amy Joliffe, The Purple Emperors, Red Sqwrl, Wight Ukers, Bexter, Julie Jones, Feck!, All Washed Up, and Moonshine Border Morris, with more to be announced.
