Celebrity chef, River Cottage’s Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, will help launch a new food and drink festival, called the Great Wight Bite, in Cowes on September 9 and 10.

Based at Northwood House, it aims to celebrate every part of the Island’s food scene, putting the Isle of Wight on the map as one of the UK’s most exciting foodie
destinations.

Hugh said: "The Isle of Wight has a great farming and fishing heritage and is home to some exciting food and drink producers and restaurants.

"The Great Wight Bite has something for everyone. See you all at Northwood House!"

Lobster.

A rustic-style Chef's Demo Stage will host chefs including the award-winning Robert Thompson.

A Masterclass Kitchen will run culinary experience - the chance to sharpen up on fish filleting skills, try pasta making or perfect a gin cocktail.

For kids, there will be the Little Cooks' Den, complete with their very own chef's chat.

Event director Domine Nowell said: "We are thrilled to be launching a new food and drink festival.

"Combined with one of best growing climates in the country, the produce from land and sea is simply incredible."

Bembridge-based White Knuckle Brewery will be on hand and the Gastronomy team from Cowes serve up signature margaritas.
