Rookley's Gardening Galore event is back .... but will be delayed.

The popular event was set to go ahead on Sunday but due to the weather forecast it has been pushed back to May 14.

The event is organised by Rookley Village Association and is billed as the Isle of Wight's oldest event for all things gardening.

It will take place at Rookley Village Hall and Sports Field on Highwood Lane from 10am to 3pm.

A spokesperson said: "After a very tough few years those Island-based horticultural organisations and nurseries that have survived need all the support that we can give them.

"A variety of growers, nurseries, garden centres, and suppliers of all sorts of things for your garden, will be available for you to browse."

Entry is free, as is adjacent parking.

Refreshments will be available, including homemade cakes baked and served by Rookley Women's Institute.

This year's charity collection is for Ability Dogs 4 Young People, who train assistance dogs to enhance the independence of disabled young people and children living on the Island.
