Police have confirmed that over 130 offences have led to drivers being stopped on the Isle of Wight this week by the specialist Hampshire Road Policing Unit (RPU).
Officers have been out and about on our Island’s roads over the past few days, cracking down on the ‘fatal four' and other driving offences.
The fatal four are speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing a seat belt and using a mobile phone while driving.
During their travels, the RPT reported that a total of 131 offences were identified.
Four drivers were arrested on suspicion of drug driving, and four vehicles were seized for no insurance or licence.
Other offences were dealt with either with a fixed penalty or a traffic offence report.
