A fundraiser has been set up to support the grieving family of a much-loved Isle of Wight father, who died suddenly in his sleep last week.

Aged just 47, Jon Marshall, from Chillerton, passed away unexpectedly on March 29.

His partner Lauren Whitehouse said he appeared fine the day before and his sudden death comes as a shock.

Jon also leaves behind his two daughters, Darcie, aged 6, and Erryn, aged 4.

Family and friends have been paying tribute, and a Crowdfunding page has been set up by Jon's colleagues at Snows BMW Isle of Wight.

It states: "The shock and sadness is overwhelming.

"We would like to do all we can to support them at this sad time including raising some money to help with the burden."

So far, more than £3,500 of the £5,000 target has been raised.

Lauren told the County Press she is 'overwhelmed' by the generosity and support of Islanders.

The couple's local pub, the White Horse Inn, Whitwell, has also offered its support.
