A 46-YEAR-OLD man is accused of glassing his friend at an Isle of Wight pub, assaulting two others at his home, and beating a police constable while in custody.

Daniel Stewart Farrell, of Spanners Close, Chale, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (March 21).

He is accused of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault, assault by beating, assault of an emergency worker and using threatening, abusive or insulting words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Ann Smout, prosecuting, said the pub was the White Mouse Inn in Chale, on August 26, 2022.

Later the same day, at his home address, Farrell is alleged to have assaulted two others, and a further alleged assault is said to have happened at Newport Police Station the following day.

Magistrates’ told Farrell to not contact his alleged victims as part of his conditional bail.

He will appear next before the Isle of Wight Crown Court on April 20.
