After almost two and a half hours of discussion in the council chamber tonight, a decision has still not been reached on the controversial Pennyfeathers housing application in Ryde.

A decision about the access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the major 904-home development was due to be made by the Isle of Wight Council's planning committee.

Members of the planning committee said they still had questions to ask about the development but ran out of time, as the meeting could go on no longer than four hours and other planning applications had already been discussed.

The planning committee will meet again, at a date to be decided, but before the next scheduled meeting in April.

It has been more than seven years since the plans were first posed to the Isle of Wight Council.
