AN Isle of Wight antique and vintage shop will feature on BBC One this afternoon (Wednesday, February 22) as part of the long-running Antiques Road Trip.

Catherine Southon and David Harper, both antique experts, visited Doreshill Farm Emporium, on Briddlesford Road in Wootton, on March 30 last year and purchased five items.

The pair stop by on their way to Dorset to discover how homesick French sailors in the Second World War helped introduce garlic to the Island.

The Island’s largest vintage antiques emporium, Doreshill is owned by Mel Hicks and her husband, Rob.

Posting on Facebook, Doreshill said: “We are very excited to see how they get on at auction and how much they can raise for charity.

“It’ll be interesting to see if they leave in the part where Woody the cat stole Catherine’s croissant out of her handbag - naughty boy!”

The Emporium has already been visited by Antiques Road Trip twice.

Firstly, in 2016, with antique experts Raj Bisram and James Braxton and secondly, in 2019, with jewellery aficionado Izzie Balmer.

Doreshill will feature on the show, for a third time, at 3.45pm.
