There seems to be a full frontal attack on Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party for protecting the wealthy and making Britain a low tax safe haven for the super rich.

After Boris Johnson promoted his Russian friend Evgeny Lebedev, son of KGB agent Alexander Lebedev, to the Lords, it must have been deeply embarrassing when Russia then invaded Ukraine.

Britain took swift action, announcing it would freeze oligarchs assets held in Londongrad, thoughtfully allowing them several weeks to move their wealth to safe havens elsewhere.

Politically it is important not to bite the hand that feeds your political party no matter how despicable they might be.

But you can only style out chumocracies and mutually beneficial associations for so long before the public catch on.

Credibility slipping? Need to touch base with the common man. Enter stage left, red wall Tory MP, ‘hang ‘em’ 30p Lee Anderson, as deputy leader of the Conservative Party.

That should fire up the Daily Mail readers and have them all chomping at the bit ready to cast their vote in favour of the Conservatives in the next general election.

Britain is clearly in a state because of all those dreadful boat people,  it is nothing to do with Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng throwing £30 billion up the wall.

Glad we cleared that up.
