Shanklin's annual Rotary Club sale has raised thousands of pounds for charity.

The event took place on January 10, and continued over a two week period.

Having had a two-year break because of Covid, this year it was held at the smaller venue of Winchester House.

That didn't deter people from donating and coming along, however.

An impressive £17,000 was raised from this year's event.

A spokesperson for Shanklin Rotary Club said: "The everyday, the unusual and the downright bizarre were donated and sold.

"We are grateful to the public, many volunteers and Shanklin Rotarians who gave their time.

"It is an annual pop-up shop which has been run uniquely by Shanklin Rotary for over 50 years of its 97 year Island history and aimed at recycling unwanted items at low cost."

All proceeds go to local charitable causes, national and international organisers.

Organisers are promising the event will be back next year on an even bigger scale.
