A man who tried to rob a woman in the car park at St Mary's Hospital in Newport has been pleaded guilty.
Nerijus Suminskas, of no fixed abode, appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Monday).
It was heard how on December 7, 2022, a woman in her 60s was approached by the 46-year-old in the North Car Park of the hospital.

Suminskas grabbed hold of the woman and a struggle ensued, the court heard, before putting his hand in her bag. He did not manage to steal anything.
The victim called out for help and two members of the public came to her aid, one of which detained Suminskas at the scene until police arrived and arrested him.
Suminskas was subsequently charged with attempted robbery, which he admitted yesterday.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court for sentencing on February 24.
