DIVERSIONS remain for buses and drivers heading between Newport and West Wight today (Wednesday) due to the closure of the Middle Road.

Calbourne Road (The Middle Road) from its junction with Pump Lane to its junction with Rowridge Lane has been closed since 12.30pm.

A team of Southern Water engineers are still on site carrying out repairs on a burst water main and residents in the Calbourne area may be experiencing low or no water pressure.

Southern Vectis route seven has been diverted via Gunville, Forest Road and Elm Lane, when travelling between Newport and Calbourne. 

A statement on the Southern Water website says: "Your water supply should return to normal within three hours. 

"You may notice some discolouration or low pressure at first; this is completely normal when there’s been a disruption to the supply and is only temporary. 

"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."
