COULD the Isle of Wight get snow this week as the temperatures drop?

Yes, according to the Isle of Wight Met Service.

Islanders can expect hard frosts in places, with the odd snow flurry too.

The forecast says: "The start of the week will be cloudy and rather chilly with a fresh breeze, however after mid week things look to turn much brighter by day with some good sunny spells, but also becoming very frosty at night with some hard frosts likely in places.

"The end of the week we may begin to see the odd snow flurry here and there but still with some bright spells at times."

Although there's sunshine forecast, the temperatures do look like dropping as the week goes on, with a cold Friday around zero-to-one degrees in central and south Wight.
