For the 23rd year, Terry Ramplin has decorated his Long Lane home for Christmas.

He invites people to go along and enjoy it, and pop a donation into the box for Prostate Cancer.

He has raised around £30,000 for various charities over the last two decades by lighting up his Newport home.

Terry has ploughed ahead this year despite the energy crisis, which means it will cost him dear to spread the Christmas joy.

He has also been left off the Southern Vectis Christmas lights bus tour this year, but nothing is dimming Terry's enthusiasm for the festive season.

An official opening ceremony took place yesterday (Saturday) complete with mince pies, and Christmas carols performed by Vectis Corps of Drums.

There was even a visit by a big red American truck.

Terry has gone back to raising money for prostate cancer this year after his fundraising in 2021 allowed the group to test 250 Newport men.

"Thirty of those men required further investigation, so that was important work," said Terry.
