Isle of Wight-based technology company Innovative Physics has won another award for its innovative work thanks to its radiation detecting gamma camera.
The Shanklin-based company, a world-renowned research and development company specialising in sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and pattern recognition, secured the Made in the South East Digital Engineering/Technology Award for 2022 at a prestigious event at the Sofitel, London Gatwick.
The Made in the South East Awards celebrate the cream of the region’s manufacturing sector and seek to recognise products, innovations and ideas.
It target organisations that have built reputations for their high-quality products and services and the skills of the people they employ.

Innovative Physics, which works predominantly in the international nuclear, medical and homeland security sectors, had submitted an entry in respect of its work in nuclear radiation detection, specifically the use of the ground-breaking gamma camera.
The portable device is capable of identifying and grading radiation activity quickly and effectively, limiting exposure to radiation and saving time and money in the process.
The company has also developed a range of customised devices providing bespoke solutions for its clients’ challenges.
Commenting on their win, the judges said they “were impressed that Innovative Physics has developed world-class technology and equipment at a rapid, cost-effective rate, providing its customers with a strong competitive edge.”
Business development executive Halina Harvey said on collecting the award: “We’re delighted to have been recognised for this award and for the technology that we have created.
"We are very proud of our Island and UK roots and of what we have been able to achieve with our international client base and are excited to be flying the flag for the Island at the Made in the UK Grand Finale in June 2023.
“We have taken on more software engineers this year and we are currently expanding our client base in South Korea and the USA.”
