A WEATHER warning for fog has been issued by the local forecaster Isle of Wight Met Service.

The warning is issued for tomorrow morning, from 1am to 11am, so drivers are urged to take care on the school run and getting to work in the morning.

Forecaster Jamie Russell said localised mist and fog patches will develop overnight and become locally dense as we move towards dawn, especially in rural parts and perhaps slightly more across the western half of the Island.

Areas further east may still see a few fog patches, although some places will remain completely fog free.

The mist and fog will likely lift into low cloud for a time during the morning before clearing completely for the afternoon.

IMPACTS, EFFECTS AND MEASURES

• Sudden and dramatic reduction in visibility over very short distances leading to hazardous driving conditions in places, especially in rural parts
• Delays and cancellations to public transport, especially cross Solent travel are predicted
