There was a hat-trick of wins for Borthwood Farm's Denness family at this year's Isle of Wight Gilten Market...with the winning beast staying local after being bought by Ryde's Heron restaurant.
Mick Denness won the championship and ‘Gilten’ beast for a well produced Limousin heifer.
Mick also took the winning pair of sheep, with a superb pair of Texel x which sold to the Judge Kelly Smith for £151 a head.
The Denness family's hat-trick was completed when young Grace took the single lamb class with a heavier lamb, again selling to the judge.
Members of the farming community returned to Tapnell Farm near Freshwater for the market thanks to the Turney Family Farms Partnership.
The Islands annual prime-stock show had a super turnout of cattle and a good but small entry of sheep.

After being gilded by Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Kay Marriott, the beast was bought for the Heron Restaurant, Ryde, through the head chef’s partnership with Island Foods.
Island Foods also bought a number of cattle themselves including the reserve Champion and the exhibit of the highest placed young Farmer, Leo Brett.
The champion unhandled beast was a traditional breed Angus steer from young Ralph Rickard which sold to another Island wholesaler, Bill Tuffrey, of W A Foods.
Ralph also won the Mike Holliday Memorial Cup, presented in memory of Ralph’s grandfather, with another Angus steer, which again sold to Bill Tuffrey.
The ewe class was taken by Matt Legge with his Suffolks selling to Arun Meat and Livestock Co.
Gilten Market chairman, Matt Legge, said it had been a great day, with one of the best line ups we’ve seen for many years.
He said: "It was particularly encouraging to see many of the younger exhibitors in the show classes.
"The Gilten Market is a long-standing Isle of Wight event and it takes a lot of people to make it happen."
Matt thanked patron, the High Sheriff, exhibitors, buyers, sponsors, Young Farmers Club, Southern Counties Auctioneers and the Turney family.
