A SHANKLIN man has denied twice attempting to strangle a woman.

Ronnie Morris, 29, of Joseph's Way, Shanklin, has been charged with twice intentionally attempting to strangle a woman in Shalfleet between November 1 and November 12.

He is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mr Morris appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and denied all the offences.

Judge Anthony Calloway, sitting in the magistrates' court, said the case was not suitable for summary trial and adjourned it for a hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on December 19.
