Water levels will continue to rise and the Environment Agency expects to issue a flood warning later today.

“We are operating the sluice at Bembridge to help reduce water levels across Brading Marshes while neap tides continue over the next few days,” said a spokesperson for the agency.

“This will not affect property.

“We continue to monitor the forecast and will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages.

“If you live near the river, please take action now to ensure you can protect your property.”

Avenue Road in Sandown is now closed.
