THE oldest photographic club on the Isle of Wight is currently holding its annual exhibition.

The Isle of Wight Photographic Society (IWPS) was established in 1945, although there is some evidence to indicate the society had its origins in the late 19th century.

Members are holding their annual exhibition at Ryde Library, upstairs in the gallery, until November 24, displaying their photos.

The society caters for all abilities and the aim is to enable members to improve and enjoy photography.

There are experienced members willing to offer their help, regular competitions are held for prints and projected digital images.

From time to time, there are opportunities for members to undertake projects and assignments, including support to community groups on the Isle of Wight.

The group meets at Arreton Community Hall or via Zoom every Wednesday from September to May.

In addition, there will be a Saturday morning hub session from 10am to 12 noon at Quay Arts in Newport on the last Saturday of the month.
