IT WAS quite the sight over the Isle of Wight today - an RAF Airbus A400M Atlas flying back and forth multiple times.
It got people wondering what the plane was doing, and many reached for their cameras to capture the sight.
The Atlas entered service with the RAF in 2014 and has the ability to carry a 37-tonne payload, accommodating as many as 116 fully equipped troops, vehicles and helicopters.
It will even carry a Chinook.
These images were captured by Neal Staley of the Isle of Wight County Press Camera Club.
The County Press understands the Airbus was on a training exercise.

It flew up and down The Solent several times, from Portsmouth towards Selsey and back again, and down over the Isle of Wight towards Godshill and back to the mainland again.
Anyone know why this Airbus A400M is looping around the Isle of Wight? pic.twitter.com/1moEsSOnls
