AN ISLE of Wight man who set up a hidden camera to take images of people undressing is due before a judge later this year.

Andrew Taylor, of Woodside Close, Northwood, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates today (Tuesday).

The 59-year-old admitted six counts of voyeurism, and one count of taking indecent images of a child.

The charges relate to incidents between December 31, 2018, and January 18, 2021.

Ann Smout, prosecuting, said Taylor set up a hidden camera in a place where images could be taken of people in various states of undress.

The court heard in police interview, Taylor said he didn't set up the camera for sexual gratification, but conversely admitted he used the images in order to masturbate.

Taylor's case was committed to the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing, and a pre-sentence report was ordered.

He was granted unconditional bail, and his case was adjourned to November 22, 2022.
