An Isle of Wight mum-of-two has established a unique business following sleep problems with one of her own children.

Emily Kelly is a qualified infant sleep consultant and has set up her own business, Snoozy Sleep.

She said: "Snoozy Sleep was born in 2019 after I navigated my own difficult journey with my son Milo’s sleep.

"My passion is in educating and empowering families around normal infant sleep and providing high quality support in sleep and feeding through my bespoke one-to-one services."

Emily added: "I have a specific interest in the impact that tongue tie can have on the overall health and wellbeing of the infant, and I have recently qualified as a tongue tie assessor on a course facilitated by Sarah Oakley, who is a founding member and former chair of the Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners.

"One of my driving forces behind focusing on tongue tie etc, is because currently we have a huge issue nationwide of families being let down continuously on identifying the ties, which means so many families are unnecessarily going through prolonged painful journeys with their feeding, whether that be breast or bottle."

Emily moved back to the Isle of Wight in January 2021 after falling pregnant with her second baby — and now wants to raise awareness of her services to Island families.

She is OCN Level 5 certified in infant sleep and OCN Level 4 certified in tongue tie assessment and she takes a holistic, responsive and attachment focused approach and said that no one else on the Island offers these services.

Most recently Emily has been working with the amazing Heather (hypnobirthing instructor and doula) from The Birth Space and Chloe (babywearing consultant and breastfeeding peer support worker) from Carrying and Cloth.

The have been working on creating workshops which will enhance the pre and post-natal support that Isle of Wight families receive.

She concluded: "The Isle of Wight has such a great core hub of birth and beyond workers and I do feel more is needed to let families know what support is here and how they can access it."
