Royal biographerIngrid Seward, will not appear at the Isle of Wight Literary Festival, due to Covid-19.

Her talk is the second of the weekend's events to be cancelled.

The author has contracted the virus and tomorrow's (Saturday's) talk has been called off.

Yesterday (Thursday), saw a cancellation by journalist Jeremy Bowen, who has also got Covid-19.

Following the cancellation of Ingrid Seward's talk, Literary Festival organisers said: "Before requesting a refund, we hope you will consider that the loss of revenue will have a serious impact on the financial viability of this year’s festival and our ability to organise festivals in future years. We would be grateful if you would consider the cost of the ticket as a donation to the festival."

Organisers also offered ticket-holders a chance to attend other talks.

They added: "If you decide you want a refund, please advise us by email (marketing@isleofwightliterary.com) and be aware refunds will be issued after the Festival.

"Thank you for your support and understanding. We look forward to seeing you."
