BUSES, boats and e-scooters are all on the agenda for an Isle of Wight Council meeting this evening (Thursday).

Among items the policy and scrutiny committee for neighbourhoods and regeneration will hear about this afternoon, will be cross-Solent travel.

The council is looking at its public service obligation for the cross-solent services and what that might entail - and has started talking to the operators.

An update will be given to the committee on where things currently stand.

The committee will consider the trial of e-scooters on the Island which is due to expire on November 30, after two years.

An extension is being sought until March 2024.

A representative from Go South Coast — the parent company of the Island's Southern Vectis bus service — will be attending the meeting to talk about the Bus Service Improvement Plan.

The council and transport body are working together — after the plan was rejected by government — to improve the Island's bus service.

A working group has been considering a full range of options for parking permits and charges that could be introduced in April next year.

An update on its progress will be given at the meeting.
