FORMER Royal Marine Andrew Rigsby, who served in the Falkland Campaign in 1982, will launch his new book later this month.

Andrew, who lives in Ryde, is a writer and researcher focusing on gun crime, with his new book published by Beachy Books.

His latest work, Sabre Prattling, explores how the English language is liberally populated with idioms, similes and metaphors associated with firearms and conflict going back to the 14th Century.

Andrew will attend a free-to-attend book launch at Medina Publishing in Cowes on September 30, from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Earlier this year, Andrew appeared on Channel 4’s three-part documentary, Murder in the Alps, a true crime tale of the killing of a British family in the French Alps in 2012.

He was lucky to have the longest and most in-depth interview in 2020 with the first witness, Brett Martin, and was key to the investigation.
