What changes have been made to Isle of Wight travel services on the day of the Queen's funeral?

Red Funnel

Red Funnel’s Red Jet service will operate a bank holiday timetable, with the 10.55am and 12.05pm from Cowes and the 10.20am and 11.30am from Southampton timetabled crossings withdrawn from service.

To support Island residents travelling to London, a 6.05am sailing from Cowes has been added to the Red Jet timetable.

The vehicle ferry will run according to the normal timetable, except for the 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm sailings from East Cowes and the 10am, 11am and midday sailings from Southampton.

Red Funnel’s Red Kestrel freight service will continue as usual, except for the cancelled 11.55am from East Cowes and 10.25am from Southampton.

Wightlink

Wightlink has announced changes to its FastCat, with a weekend timetable active.

Two sailings have been added to the passenger service timetable, 5.45am and 6.45am, for Islanders wishing to travel to London for the State Funeral Service.

The cross-Solent operator will run its normal Monday timetable on its vehicle ferry routes.

Hovertravel

Hovertravel has introduced special travel arrangement for the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

Rather than reverting to a reduced bank holiday timetable, it will operate to its weekday schedule on September 19.

The first flight will depart from Ryde at 6.15am, and the last flight will depart from Southsea at 8.15pm.

The Hoverbus will also be operating throughout the day.

Southern Vectis

Southern Vectis will follow a Sunday timetable on all its routes, with services paused between 10am and 1pm.

An hour of further disruption could be expected, as the Island bus provider moves its vehicles to the correct locations.

The Needles and Downs Breezers, Island Coaster and Shanklin Shuttle services are cancelled.

Floating Bridge

The Cowes/East Cowes floating bridge is operating as normal

  • First crossing from West Cowes at 5am, first crossing from East Cowes at 5.10am
  • Last crossing from West Cowes at 12.20am, last crossing from East Cowes at 12.25am

Island Line

South Western Railway says it will be operating its usual service levels throughout the mourning period.

Tomorrow, Island Line will run a full weekday timetable, not a bank holiday timetable.
