Woman's body found in the water close to Red Funnel's Southampton terminal
A WOMAN'S body was found near Red Funnel's Southampton car ferry terminal last night (Tuesday, August 9).
Emergency services were quick to the scene, at Mayflower Park, following reports of a sudden death.
A body was found in the water close to the Island ferry provider's Southampton to East Cowes terminal shortly after 9pm.
According to police, her death is currently being treated as unexplained, and identification is yet to take place.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We are still in the very early stages of our investigation, and officers remain on-scene to carry out initial enquiries."
