A young woman who has worked in printing for the past five years is taking on the big boys in the highly competitive workwear sector.

Ellie Moore, 24, has started Workwear Island, which prints anything from T-shirts to hi-vis jackets.

Her main target markets are the construction, retail and hospitality sectors.

Ellie’s huge range of products also includes sportswear and caps.

She says her market research showed her that Island businesses got frustrated by hidden costs, low-quality items, and design mistakes.

Ellie told the CP: “The overwhelming response was that most IW business owners are using huge mainland companies to produce their workwear for them.

“Being a local business allows me to properly communicate with my clients, ensuring all designs are proofed properly and they will be able to test out the garments to check colours, fit, and quality before they buy.

“I am focusing on the amazing community spirit of our Island, helping businesses and organisations, and making sure my customers get the quality they expect at the right price.”
