A TIPPER truck fire in Sandown this morning (Sunday) is being treated as arson, police have confirmed.
At 12.42am, police were alerted to a vehicle on fire on Leed Street.
On arrival, officers found a truck loaded with rubbish alight.
Firefighters in attendance quickly brought the fire under control.
The vehicle — which was destroyed during the blaze — was deemed a danger to the public and other road users and was recovered.
Police are treating the incident as arson, and enquires are ongoing.
