WARRIOR Festival returns to the Isle of Wight this weekend, off the back of a successful 2021.

Hosted at Sandown Airport's Rocket Garden, a plethora of Island bands are fixed to play.

Among them are the Foo Fighterz, Baggywrinkles, The Ohmz and Arctic Junkies.

The family-friendly event, which runs from 1pm until 11pm, will close with a silent disco.

Gates open at 12pm, with music due to start an hour later.

The event is in partnership with The Wight Brainy Bunch — an Island charity which raises funds to support charities affected by brain tumours.

It was set up by Mark Grimes and his wife, Kathryn, following Mark's diagnosis of a brain tumour back in February, 2015.

A spokesperson for Warrior Festival said: "When a close friend was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, I was blown away by the huge amount of support given by the Wight Brainy Bunch.

"They eased so many burdens that came with travelling for treatment, and we really want to be able to give back so they can continue their incredible work supporting people.

"What was originally intended to just be a fundraising gig snowballed into this festival, as people rallied round to offer their help and support of The Wight Brainy Bunch.

"We are so thankful for everything they've done and continue to do for everyone."

All proceeds from the event will go to the charity.
