ST GEORGE’S School students from Year 11 and the Sixth Form enjoyed a night of traditional glamour at their Leavers’ Prom at Quay Arts, Newport, recently.

The student-led prom committee — formed by students from the sixth form — planned the entire event, from goody bags to decorations and the playlist.

The students at the Isle of Wight school worked so hard planning the event and gave up numerous break and lunchtimes to bring the evening together.

The students dazzled in their prom finery and partied the night away to school support staff, DJ and ex-student Jamie Hindson.

The Prom Royalty of Jack Day and Belle Ashby, together with a variety of runner-up Prom Groovers, were chosen by a dance-off and students busted out their best moves to win their places!

Student Amelia Tolley said: “The prom was perfect”, while fellow pupil Ryan Brown added that the atmosphere was “magical”.

School staff said it was such a great evening and the students were an absolute credit to themselves and the school.

Everyone at St George’s wishes them well in their next steps to adulthood.
