LOCAL charities, schools, businesses and organisations all got the chance to showcase what they do - thanks to Ventnor Day.
A huge turnout of support meant the stalls were busy, spread around a packed Ventnor Park and Ventnor Tee in the Park Putting Green.
Crave Ice Cream and Fancy Flo's Cakes N Stuff were among the businesses to completely sell out, such was their popularity. Tee in the Park kiosk coped admirably with a continuous queue of hungry and thirsty visitors all day.
The special day, held yesterday (Saturday), is an annual event to celebrate the town.
It is organised by Ventnor Town Council with support from Ventnor Carnival, and is always well supported.
The event this year kicked off in style, with the first performance in their hometown by Ventnor Comic Jazz Band after their recent successful appearance in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London.
The band paraded through the park, through the town and down along the seafront.
Performing on stages in the parks were The Ventnor Darlings, Greg and the Bears, The Hillmans with special guest Dick Taylor, The Slow Cats, Moonshine Border Morris, Andy Roberts, Bethan John, Lucan, Tink Beadle and Ventnor Theatre Group.
Children loved seeing the donkeys from the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, and many of the stalls made sure there were plenty of activites to keep families entertained.
Below photos show The Ventnor Darlings and The Hillmans at the bandstand.
Ventnor's next big events are Ventnor Fringe from July 22 to July 31, and Ventnor Carnival on August 10.
