EMERGENCY services were quickly on the scene at Colwell Bay this afternoon (Tuesday) after a man suffered a head injury following a fall.

Yarmouth lifeboat headed west towards the bay at 1.29pm, where the Needles Coastguard Rescue Team and paramedics were already in attendance.

The casualty was on terrain that was unsuitable for a land transfer to an ambulance, so the support of voluntary RNLI crews was requested.

Once on the scene, lifeboat crews deployed its smaller 'Y' boat to access the shoreline.

Both the casualty - a male with a head injury - and the paramedic were transferred to the lifeboat.

They were then brought to Yarmouth, where they were met by a waiting
ambulance.
