A MAN will go to trial after denying a charge of sexual assault against a 14 year old girl.
Allan Pearce, 56, of The Mall, Brading, denied the assault when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court today (Friday).
He is additionally charged with common assault towards the same victim.
The alleged offences happened at a bus stop on Station Avenue in Sandown.
The Crown Prosecution Service say Mr Pearce slapped the girl on the backside and the assault was a sexual one.
Magistrates accepted jurisdiction of the case but Mr Pearce elected for his case to be heard at the IW Crown Court.
The case was adjourned to August 22.
