A MURDER trial is set to start at the Isle of Wight Crown Court next week.
Piers Carl Brazier, of George Street, Ryde, denies the murder of Scott Edward Cooper, who died at an address in George Street.
Mr Cooper's body was found on January 4. On January 7, police named the deceased as the 33-year-old, who was from Newport. His next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.
The police launched Operation Amaryllis in relation to the murder investigation.
Hampshire Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because officers had attended the property earlier on the day of the fatal incident.
The trial of Mr Brazier is set to start on Tuesday.
