Three men and a woman remain in custody this afternoon (Thursday), after Isle of Wight police made arrests in Oakfield, Ryde in the early hours.

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary were called to Oak Vale at around 3.15am, to reports of a disturbance.

A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker

A 30 year old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of affray.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and also on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear.

That arrest followed a report of a man with a firearm in South Street, Newport, just after 6pm last night (Wednesday).
